MSA Fall Conference
Oct. 28 - 29, 2017
Capitol Plaza Hotel (415 W McCarty St., Jefferson City, MO 65101)
The Missouri Scholars Academy Alumni Association has organized the 31st annual Missouri Scholars Academy Fall Conference and Reunion, to be held October 28 – October 29, 2017. During the event, business of the alumni association will be conducted. Workshops on a variety of scholarly topics will be offered during the Saturday afternoon sessions. A banquet will take place on Saturday evening then we’ll party into the night with a Halloween dance. Scholars: Don’t forget to bring your Halloween costume for the dance!
The event will take place Saturday, October 28 – Sunday, October 29 at the Capitol Plaza Hotel (415 W McCarty St., Jefferson City, MO 65101).
Scholars from all past academies may register for this year’s conference and reunion. Families of scholars are welcome to join us at the hotel, though meals and reunion events are reserved for scholars.
The reunion will be directed and supervised by MSA faculty and staff; the event will be conducted as a lock-in, so scholars should plan to stay for the full duration of the event (Saturday afternoon through breakfast Sunday morning). Most rules of MSA will be in place during the reunion. MSAAA is a private alumni organization which does not receive funding from, nor is it governed in any way by, the state of Missouri. The faculty and staff are not paid for their volunteer efforts at the Fall Conference, so we appreciate your courtesy and cooperation immensely. Scholars who do not register will not be allowed to attend the conference.
If financial constraints will prevent you from coming to the reunion we will do our best to help! Please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Capitol Plaza Hotel offers MSAAA group room rates for us. Please register for a room through us (not the hotel) after reviewing the information below.
Rooms are available on Saturday night at these rates:
$92 for a room with one person
$46 per scholar for a room with two people
$31 per scholar for a room with three people
$23 per scholar for a room with four people
Please verify that your requested roommates are attending the reunion and have agreed to share the cost of the room! Co-ed rooms are not allowed at the reunion. If you need to share a ride or find a roommate, you are responsible for doing so through other social media, as we cannot provide personal contact information for scholars. Do not send payment for registration until you have contacted your roommates and verified that they have registered and are sending their payment. If any roommates cancel before paying, the remaining roommates will have to cover the difference in the room cost.
Parent/family rooms are available at the conference and reunion. Please pay an additional $92 per night for each parent/family room, and provide a list of those staying in the room in the registration form. Also, please indicate the evening(s) for which the parent/family room(s) are being registered (Friday, October 28 and/or Saturday, October 29). These options are available on the scholar’s registration form, and scholars are allowed to stay with their family.
If you prefer, scholars may stay with you in a family room rather than in a scholar room. While registering, please include the scholar name as the first name in the family member list and do not select to reserve a scholar room.
The conference registration fee for the MSAAA Fall Conference and Reunion covers admission to all workshop sessions, the banquet and the dance, and breakfast on Sunday. Registration fees are as follows:
$40 registration fee for MSAAA members
$50 registration fee for non-MSAAA members
$60 registration fee for those who wish to join MSAAA ($20 MSAAA lifetime dues + $40 registration)
Registration begins September 2

We will do our best to refund the $40 and $50 registration fee ($20 lifetime dues cannot be refunded) if a cancellation request is received via e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org by 5:00 p.m on October 1. Due to administrative details, It is more likely that your refund will be processed if your registration fees are paid separate from the hotel fee.
Please review your personal schedule and make sure that you will be able to attend the conference before you register. If you have a conflicting schedule or are unsure about being able to attend, please do not register until you absolutely know that you will be able to be at the hotel for the duration of the conference.

Check the mail at that address often, as we will send messages during the registration process.
You will need to login to the registration page and complete the registration form in its entirety. After completing the form you can mail a check for the hotel cost and registration fee to
Missouri Scholars Academy

Checks should be made payable to MSAAA
Please do not submit payment until you have confirmed that all of the roommates you have listed are registered, planning to attend, have listed you as a roommate, and are ready to submit payment for their accounts. This streamlines the payment and refund process and helps to eliminate further charges.
All scholars in a room are responsible for equal payment for their room. If one of the scholars cancels before submitting payment, the remaining scholars will need to pay for the balance of the room.
YOUR REGISTRATION IS NOT COMPLETE UNTIL WE RECEIVE PAYMENT.
